FinalWire Rolls Out AIDA64 v5.80

New version arrives with customizable hotkeys and DPI awareness

Posted | October 25, 2016

Today FinalWire released a new stable update to the desktop editions of its popular system information software. As a new feature, it now allows users to define global hotkeys with which they can enable or disable the AIDA64 hardware monitoring panels or switch between multiple hardware information pages on external displays, even when AIDA64 is running in the background. The developers have made AIDA64 v5.80 DPI aware so that all elements of its graphical user interface scale properly when the DPI zoom is active in Windows. It supports the latest Windows 10 builds and the most recent hardware components, including the AMD RX 400 series and NVIDIA’s GTX 1050 GPUs.

Optimized 64-bit benchmarks for AMD Bristol Ridge APUs

AIDA64 CPUID Panel, Cache & Memory Benchmark panel, System Stability Test, and all memory and processor benchmarks are fully optimized for AMD A-Series Bristol Ridge mobile and desktop APUs, utilizing AVX, FMA4, XOP and AES-NI instructions. Detailed chipset information for AMD Kern integrated Fusion Controller Hub. Improved support for AMD Zen Summit Ridge CPU.

DPI awareness

AIDA64 now scales its user interface perfectly when DPI zoom is active. In practice, this means that users will see no more blurry or incorrectly sized graphics or text on high-resolution screens as AIDA64 now looks crisp even on 4K and 8K LCD and OLED displays.

Hot keys

AIDA64 now allows users to define global hotkeys with which they can enable or disable the AIDA64 hardware monitoring panels or switch between multiple hardware information pages on external displays, even when AIDA64 is running in the background. Using these customized key combinations, PC enthusiasts can also start and stop saving temperature, voltage and power measurements as well as fan RPM readouts to a CSV or HTML log file.

RGB LED mousepad support

The existing AIDA64 RGB LED module has been extended to cover Corsair MM800 Polaris and Razer Firefly RGB LED mousepads. CPU and memory utilization, network traffic, temperatures, voltages, fan speeds, and power draw measurements can now all be monitored on RGB devices, using various visual representations.

Next-generation Intel processors and chipsets support

AVX2 and FMA optimized 64-bit benchmarks for 7th Generation Intel Core Kaby Lake desktop, notebook, tablet, and workstation processors. Chipset information for Intel 200-Series Union Point and Union Point-LP south bridges, and for the integrated memory controller of Intel Kaby Lake processors. AIDA64 benchmarks and System Stability Test utilize Advanced Vector Extensions 2 (AVX2), Fused Multiply-Add (FMA) instructions, and AES-NI hardware acceleration of the new Intel processors. Improved support for Intel “Apollo Lake” SoC. Preliminary support for hardware accelerated SHA in the AIDA64 CPU Hash benchmark.

Mobile apps

AIDA64 has also been released on a new mobile platform, Ubuntu Touch. This version includes most of the features found in the AIDA64 Android app, while it provides support for Ubuntu’s convergence concept: it is capable of dynamically adapting its user interface to the displays or input devices connected. So much so that it was awarded the runner-up prize in Canonical’s converged Ubuntu Touch app competition. AIDA64 for Ubuntu Touch can be downloaded for free from the Ubuntu Store. As Google has recently made the Play Store available on Chrome OS, it is now possible to run AIDA64 for Android on Chromebooks, Chromeboxes and Chromebits as well.

Support for the latest hardware technologies
